Home/Care Plans

Website care, handled for you

A website is never really finished. Software needs updating, things break, and small changes pile up. A monthly care plan keeps yours secure, backed up and improving, with an engineer who already knows it on hand. Monthly rolling, cancel any time with 30 days' notice.

How it works

Set up once, then off your plate

01

Onboarding audit

Your first month starts with a full check-over: updates applied, backups configured, security and monitoring switched on, and anything urgent brought up to a known-good baseline.

02

Ongoing care

Each month I keep everything updated, backed up and monitored, and use your included hours for the edits, fixes and small improvements you send over. Priority response when something breaks.

03

Monthly report

A short, plain-English summary of what changed, your uptime, how the site's performing and anything I'd recommend next. No jargon, no padding, just what you need to know.

The plans

Pick the level of care that fits

Every plan covers the essentials of keeping a site healthy. The difference is how much hands-on developer time you get each month, and how fast I respond.

What's not included

To keep plans fair and predictable, these sit outside a care plan. Each is available separately, and anything small usually just comes out of your monthly hours.

  • Brand-new websites or full redesigns (quoted as a fixed-scope project)
  • Large feature builds beyond your monthly hours
  • Third-party costs: hosting, domains, email, premium plugins & licences
  • Content creation: copywriting, photography and video
  • Paid advertising, SEO campaigns & social media management
  • Emergency out-of-hours callouts (available as an add-on)
  • Fixing issues caused by others editing the site or code directly

Not sure which fits? Get in touch and I'll recommend one honestly, or build a custom plan around what you actually need.

Care plan FAQ

The questions people actually ask

Is there a minimum contract?
No. Every plan is monthly rolling. Stay as long as it's useful and cancel any time with 30 days' notice — no lock-in and no cancellation fee. The only ask is that the notice covers the month you're in.
Do unused hours roll over?
Hours are per calendar month and don't roll over, which keeps pricing simple and predictable for both of us. That said, I'm pragmatic: if you have a quiet month and then a busy one, tell me and we'll be sensible about it rather than clock-watching.
What happens if I need more than my included hours?
Small overruns I usually just absorb. For anything larger — a new feature, a redesign, a proper piece of work — I'll quote it separately before starting, so you always approve the cost first. Many clients on a plan get their extra work at a better rate than one-off jobs.
Can I change plan later?
Any time, up or down, effective from your next billing month. Plenty of people start on Essential and move up to Professional once they see how useful having an engineer on hand actually is.
What counts as an "edit"?
Text and image changes, swapping a price or opening hours, adding a page or blog post, tweaking a form, updating a team member — the everyday changes a business needs. Larger structural work or brand-new functionality is quoted separately, but I'll always tell you which category something falls into up front.
Do you host the website too?
Hosting isn't included in the plan price, but I'll happily manage it on your behalf and can recommend and set up hosting that suits your site. You keep ownership of the account either way — nothing is held hostage.
My site wasn't built by you — can you still take it on?
Usually, yes. Inherited sites are common. It starts with the onboarding audit so I can see what state it's in and flag anything risky. If something makes ongoing care impractical, I'll tell you honestly and suggest the better route before you commit to a plan.
